Camping Le Canigou | France

Le Canigou has been in the hands of Dutch owners for more than twenty years now. The homely campsite has a group of regular guests, of whom many are often sports lovers. They go cycling, walking or motorcycling in the vicinity. Are you planning on making a trip and do you want to leave early in the morning? The bar is open from 7.30 hours, serving fresh buns and coffee. You can also read the morning paper here or watch the news. The restaurant is open from 16.00 hours. It has a tasty menu with (carry-out) pizzas, grill dishes, and daily specials. The terrace has free Wifi, and each Saturday evening you can enjoy live music there.

Villatents at Le Canigou

The campsite has six Villatent Nomad tents (shower and toilet) that can accommodate a maximum of six persons. The tents are placed on attractive large spaces, nearby natural waters. At the map, the locations are indicated by numbers 40, 41, 42, 43, and 44.

Swimming water

Each spring, the mountain river that runs through the campsite area is partly blocked off, creating a natural swimming pond of about 1.5 metres deep.

Perfect for teenagers

During the high season, campsite Le Canigou specifically caters to families with teenagers. Every year, hundreds of youngsters between the ages of 10 and 20 can meet one another here. So, parents can fully enjoy their holidays with happy teenagers! The Outdoor entertainment team organises excursions and sports activities, such as canoeing, rafting and mountain biking. Furthermore, there is a rope climbing competition during which the children can move through the campsite’s trees like real monkeys (secured of course). In the evenings, all teenagers gather at the terrace and in the lounge where they can have a great time without being disturbed!

Canigou Outdoor program

The Outdoor entertainment team organizes excursions and sports activities such as canyoning, abseiling, climbing and mountain biking. In the trees of the campsite there is a ropes course, in which you can move around like a real monkey (of course secured).

In addition to the outdoor program there is also a daily camping program. This includes at least 1 free activity per day such as raft building, the pub quiz, Crazy Bingo, catapult building a Spanish night, and much more...  In the evening, all teenagers gather on the terrace and lounge at the reception. Here they can have fun undisturbed!
