A small family campsite, only 10 minutes from the beach

Glamping on the beautiful island of Elba? Come to Campsite Casa dei Prati. Elba, also called the forgotten pearl, has a stunning flora and fauna, impressive mountains, and magnificent coastlines. And there is something to do for everyone! It is the perfect place for walking, cycling, diving, and water sports. But you can also indulge in Elba’s cultural treasures, such as the old residence of Napoleon Bonaparte or the many harbour villages, where you can enjoy the local food and drinks.

Campsite Casa dei Prati is a small family camping facility, at a distance of only 10 minutes walking from the Lacona Bay. The campsite has a basic set-up, but is ideally situated and surrounded by olive trees. In the middle of the camping area, you find the reception and a small bar/shop, which is open every day to collect fresh buns and drink a cup of coffee. Having a bite to eat? This is not possible at the campsite, but at the boulevard of Lacona Beach or in one of the island’s friendly harbour villages there are plenty of restaurants.

Villatents at Casa dei Prati

Casa dei Prati has a total number of twelve Villatents. You can choose a tent suitable for six persons, the Villatent Nomad, with sanitary facilities or you can opt for a tent that can accommodate a maximum of five persons, the Villatent Wood, without sanitary facilities. The tents have a fan that provides extra cooling during the hot days. The Villatent Nomad tents are positioned in a cosy street next to and opposite one another, where children (and adults) can easily get acquainted. The Villatent Wood tents are placed in groups of three, close to the sanitary building, which was recently (2018) completely renewed. On the map, the Villatent Wood is indicated by numbers VL 1 – 6, and the Villatent Nomad by numbers VS 1 – 6.

Swimming pool or beach

The campsite has a comfortable outdoor swimming pool with a separate paddle pool for the very young. As at most camping locations in Italy, it is compulsory to wear a bathing cap. For some quality relaxation time, you can also go to the jacuzzi beside the pool. Or do you rather lie on the beach? From the campsite, it is only a ten minutes’ walk to the Lacona Bay. Or you can use the shuttle bus between the campsite and the beach. Are you a water sports lover? Surf boards, sail boats and motor boats can be hired at the Lacona Bay, where there is also a sail and dive school.

Activities and entertainment

During the high season, there is an entertainment team present at the campsite. It organises creative and fun activities on a daily basis, such as doing crafts and making masks. For the very young, there is a mini club where they can play in the recreational area under supervision of an adult. Every day, the young guests can attend aqua gym lessons, and at regular intervals enjoy themselves in the kids’ disco. The entertainment is specifically suitable for children of up to 12 years of age.

With the ferryboat to Elba

The ferryboat to Elba departs from the coastal town of Piombino, about 1400 kilometres from Utrecht. From Piombino you leave for Portoferraio, the port of Elba.
