Atmospheric family campsite between the Lot and Dordogne valleys

New to our offer: Camping Le Moulin du Bel-Air is a friendly family campsite that instantly puts you in holiday mode—green, laid-back, and built around an old watermill, right on the Céou River in the Lot. You’ll enjoy peaceful surroundings in nature, while still having everything you need for a relaxed stay.

Take a dip in the (heated) swimming pool (around 27°C) and the toddler pool, let the kids play in the playground, and challenge each other on the tennis court or at a game of pétanque. You can also enjoy table tennis, volleyball and mini golf, and there’s a skate park at the entrance. In high season, the team organises fun activities for the whole family, such as sports events, quizzes and games, plus cosy evenings with shows, concerts or themed dinners. There’s a kids’ club (ages 4–10) with outdoor games and craft activities—perfect for making new holiday friends. At the brasserie/restaurant with terrace, you can sit down for a drink, a (homemade) pizza or another dish. And beyond the campsite there’s plenty to explore, too. You’ll be staying between the Lot Valley and the Dordogne Valley—an ideal region for walks, natural swimming spots and characterful villages.

Highlights of Camping Le Moulin du Bel-Air:

  • Double the water fun: Relax by the (heated) pool while little ones splash in the toddler pool, or head to the Céou River for a more natural setting.
  • Atmospheric and small-scale: The setting is truly distinctive: an authentic campsite centred around an old watermill, surrounded by greenery and a calm, welcoming vibe. You get great facilities and lively moments in season, without it ever feeling crowded.
  • An ideal base: Between the Lot and Dordogne valleys, you’re perfectly placed for varied days out—walking and mountain biking through the green landscape, swimming in natural waters, and visiting charming villages and local sights.

Surroundings
Around Camping Le Moulin du Bel-Air, you’ll discover the very best of the Lot: green valleys, charming French villages and impressive natural scenery. The campsite sits on the banks of the Céou River—an ideal spot to cool off on warm days and to experience the area at a relaxed pace. Close by, you can enjoy beautiful walks and bike rides through a hilly, wooded landscape, heading towards the Parc Naturel Régional des Causses du Quercy.

The Lot is also perfect for leisurely cycling. You’ll find several (tourist) cycling routes and greenways, with distances that suit both a family outing and a longer ride. Hikers are in the right place too: the region offers many waymarked trails, from short walks to more challenging hikes. Fancy a bit more action? Go canoeing or kayaking. In this area, you can also swim in natural waters.

Prefer culture and characterful towns? You’re well placed for that as well. Cahors is about 31 km away and is great for an afternoon stroll through the historic centre, followed by a drink on a sunny terrace. Rocamadour (around 35 km) is another must-see: a spectacular town that looks as if it’s clinging to the cliff face. And if you’d like to head towards the Dordogne, you can reach the atmospheric riverside villages—such as Beynac-et-Cazenac (around 40 km)—in about three quarters of an hour.

A truly special experience is the Gouffre de Padirac: an impressive underground world where you travel (partly) by boat through caves and galleries. And if you want to see a real postcard village, add Saint-Cirq-Lapopie to your list. It’s about a 45-minute drive away and sits beautifully high above the Lot River.

Practicalities are well covered too. There’s a supermarket nearby for daily groceries, and in the surrounding villages you’ll find bakeries, small shops and restaurants.

  • Please note: tourist tax must be paid on site.

From central Europe, it’s roughly a 10.5 to 12-hour drive to Camping Le Moulin du Bel-Air, covering around 1,000 to 1,100 km (depending on your route). Most travellers drive via Belgium towards Paris, then continue south in the direction of Orléans/Limoges and on to the Lot. The final kilometres are on regional roads through a hilly, rural area—easy enough to drive, but expect more bends and a slightly slower pace than on the motorway.

At Camping Le Moulin du Bel-Air, you can check in from 16:00. On the day of departure, you need to check out by 10:00.
